We are building healthier communities by way of a healthier food system by prioritizing programs in food access, food production, and food education. Our programming is designed to address the root causes of hunger, food insecurity, and food related illness in an effort to cultivate a healthy, equitable food system in the greater Colorado Springs community.
Investing in health equity is simple when you invest in CSFR.
For every $1 contributed, CSFR can provide $6 worth of fresh, healthy food to members of our community who lack access.
When you invest in CSFR, you are also investing in our community partners. Through our direct redistribution food access programs, we have drastically cut the food budget of other local nonprofit organizations, allowing them to focus on other programming.
$500 can underwrite the cost of one FLY (Food systems Leadership for Youth) employee for one quarter. These employees mentor other students through our internship program and manage a weekly no-cost grocery program that redistributes thousands of pounds of healthy food each month.
