Becoming a Friend is one of the most impactful ways to help us meet our mission of cultivating a healthy, equitable food system in the greater Colorado Springs community. Our Friends currently contribute between $5 and $500 per month to support the general operating costs of CSFR and our programming. A monthly contribution of any amount is incredibly impactful!
Your monthly contribution will help us expand our Food Education programming. Currently, we engage students from 12 different local schools, employ 4 Atlas Preparatory High School students, and facilitate student-led cafeteria/school garden food rescues in 5 schools.
It will also help us increase healthy food access in Colorado Springs most underserved neighborhoods while decreasing the amount of food that ends up in landfills. In 2017, we rescued and redistributed over 3 million pounds of fresh food!
Finally, your support will help us increase local food production through our partnerships with community gardens and the expansion of Fresh Food Connect, a web application that allows local backyard gardeners to share their backyard bounty with the click of a button.
